Behind The Brilliance

I live on small acreage in a beautiful part of rural Victoria, Australia in an ancient house & am lucky enough to also have an old two roomed school building to play in.   I make unique small scale paper sculptures and hand pulled,  limited edition prints, using linocut and etching techniques.    I am also about to introduce a range of wearable art & practical, beautiful homewares.   My work is inspired by the patterns, shadows & shapes I see all around me; both in the natural & manmade worlds.  Beauty is everywhere.

As part of my ongoing efforts to be as kind to the environment as possible I use high quality water-based inks & non chemical intaglio methods to create my prints. My sculptures are constructed with paper recycled from books past their prime, newspapers, maps & sheet music joined with non toxic glue.   The soon to arrive clothing & homewares ranges will be made from vintage fabrics & trims & carefully selected organic hemp & bamboo, chosen for their eco credentials & hand embroidered or screenprinted in my studio.

Thank you for visiting my site, it will be updated often as I continue to explore the fascinating possibilities of visual art.  I hope you enjoy your time in my gallery.   If something takes your fancy, pieces which are currently available can be purchased securely online via my Etsy store ScathinglyBrilliant
.

I am a proud member of NAVA Australia (National Association of Visual Artists) & strongly believe that access to high quality art should not be reserved for the privileged few.

  1. Hi, just wanted to say how much I like your work. I am a new to printmaking student from Sydney and am inspired by early linocut artists such as Dorrit Black and Ethel Spowers. Love the fingerprints!

  2. So when I saw this, I immediately thought of the Hayley Mills movie, “The Trouble With Angels” and laughed out loud at the thought of it. Is that where you got the “scathingly brilliant idea” idea?
